Mike 'The Trigger' Sedee Bass.
Mike Sedee was born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on
September 4, 1980. He originally comes from a hardcore
and metal background, where he started on electric
bass at age 13 and switched to drums a couple of years
later. Wanting more challenge and development in his
musical abilities, one day he picked up the doublebass
and started checking out other, older music from the
1950's thru the 1970's. His former band The
Doubleshots
caught the attention of Mellotones founder Mike
Donkers because of their fresh, open approach and Mike
D. eventually asked Mike and his buddy Ruben - another
Doubleshot - to join The Mellotones. Now all of Mike
S's musical influences, which are rooted in all sorts
of rock, blues, rock 'n' roll, hardcore, soul and
funk, are coming home in The Mellotones. He will pick
up any music and try to make it his own, 'as long as
it's good,' he says. Mike is completely self-taught
which
has resulted in an unorthodox but organic and soulful
playing style which is all his own. Plus he plays a
damn fine six-string in
Black Bottle Riot too!

Mike is influenced by mostly simple, tight and groove-focused bassplayers.
Among Mike's influences are Keith 'El Guero' Ferguson, James Jamerson, Donald Dunn, Billy Cox, Dusty Hill, Josh Homme,
Garry Tallent, Willie Weeks, Lenny Kravitz, Berry Oakley, Rex Brown, Sven Pipien, John Paul Jones, Harley Flanagan, Jimmy Smith and many more.
